3rd Birthday Party

Enjoying the cake- me and my best friend Izzy.
Alex with her Mummy and Daddy.

Izzy, me, Joshua and Mia.

Cute little Mia enjoying the cake!

My 3rd Birthday

We had my 3rd Birthday party on Saturday down in the garden. This is me with Elia and Joshua blowing out the candles on my Minnie Mouse cake. Now I know that normally Mummy should have stayed up all night baking and decorating, but she'd only just got back from San Francisco so she had one made for me instead. Everyone agreed it was the yummiest birthday cake they'd had in a long time, and there wasn't much left of it in the end!

Gymnastics

September 2007 is all about new things. I've had my first week at school, caught the bus all by myself and here I am Saturday morning going off to gymnastics while Daddy goes for a run.
Gymnastics is great fun. Not really sure what's going on yet. Jade from downstairs also goes (her big sister Elia is in the bigger class) and we are the youngest so we just run around and try and copy what the coach is doing. Anyway it's good fun, and I love my leotard!

Wednesday

First day at school

Here I am, back from my hols and already back to reality. 2 weeks away from turning three, and I am starting my first day at proper school. I have been at playgroups for the last year and a half, but the French school takes us in a bit earlier than other schools so off I go. I am in Petite Section Bilingue, which means I will have one day taught in English, the next day in French.

It was raining this morning, and the traffic was bad to get me into Central on the school bus, but luckily mummy came with me so I didn't feel alone or sad or anything. When we eventually got there, I went up to my new classroom and found my English teacher, Miss Lynda. On Thursday I will be in Miss Isabelle's class.

Everything that is mine (desk, drawer, cubby hole and books) are marked with my name and a picture of a penguin because I can't quite read yet. As penguins are one of my favourite animals, I love that I am now a penguin at school.

There are about 20 children in the class, mostly French but not all...

All the mum's were nervous and some of the other children were crying, but I was fine.

Mummy came and picked me up in the afternoon when we finished at 3pm. I had had my lunch at the school canteen and had a quick nap so I wasn't too tired. We caught the school bus home together, and mummy brought me a couple of chocolate biscuits to eat much to the envy of the other kids on the bus whose mummies didn't come with them.

The next thing to look forward to is gymnastics on Saturday... it's all go again!!

Tuesday

Not a bad way to leave Bali...

This is me ready for take off in what mummy assures me is the best place to sit on a Jumbo- seat 1A. I have to say I am impressed with the leg room, but can't understand why I had to have an orange juice while Daddy got to knock back champagne behind me. The best thing was I had my own telly and all the Cathay girls made a huge fuss of me, continuing the princess treatment I had got all holiday.

Watching Disney at 40,000 feet. I was just too excited to sleep anyway!

It was the perfect end to a perfect holiday. And now I am back in Hong Kong I keep waking up at night and going through to mummy and daddy and asking why we can't go back to Bali. I loved it there.

I start school today, 4th September, so I will post some photos of my first day soon. Enjoy my Bali snaps in the meanwhile!

Last day in Bali

A picture of the three of us after our last morning on the beach. So sad to be leaving- none of us wanted to leave.

Ready for the airport, this was taken by our buggy driver who I helpded to drive when we went back and forth to the beach.

Back at the villa

Me posing in my bikini and shades back at the villa. We had our own little pool which I enjoyed throwing things into so Daddy would have to dive down and get for me.

Hanging out on the sun loungers outside the villa reading Dirty Bertie.

Mummy and I walking back to our villa.

Baywatch

This is me running to meet Daddy on the beach. He went running every morning while Mummy and I hung out on the beach collecting shells and exploring rock pools.

Monkey Forest, Ubud

This place was great, though Daddy was slightly wary of all these cheeky monkeys running about free and jumping on people so he kept hold of me very tight!

The monkeys were brilliant, there were baby ones with their mummies and daddies, jumping from trees into the water, running around eating bananas... I loved it.

Queen of the jungle...

Sayan

The hotel we were staying in in Jimbaran Bay has a sister hotel up in the mountains in Sayan, Ubud. They let us go and stay there overnight for a change of scenery during our two week stay by the beach. It was amazing to be right in the middle of the jungle with all the sounds of birds and monkeys and stuff. When I woke up in the morning I was sure there was a lion outside, but Daddy said it was probably only a bird of some kind.

This is mummy and I on the terrace of the little villa we stayed in.

Me pushing Daddy into the pool!!

Baby massage...

I get my mummy to massage me. Has to be two hands and all over, almost like a tickle. And on holiday I needed at least 4 per day to ensure total relaxation... BLISS!

Japanese Hot Tub

Family time

Monday

Beds on the Beach

They set this up twice a week at the hotel and it's brilliant. You basically recline on a four-poster bed while eating a 10 course meal (or something- I'd had my dinner earlier, there was far too much weird stuff on offer). They even set me up with my own table and colouring books.

This is me with Sentana. Put it this way, Daddy's just glad I am not 16 years older!!

Bath, Dinner, Bed...

First bath, with various amphibian friends and my shell collection...

Followed by room service dinner for one on the terrace overlooking the plunge pool...

Finished off with ice-cream at Beds on the Beach with Mummy and Daddy.
Pretty much a perfect evening!
