Oscar's back home (part II)

Oscar came back home from the Matilda on Saturday, and Mummy was loving being back epecially since I was also on half term and the weather was glorious. Monday and Tuesday afternoon we played down in the garden with Izzy, Alex, Joshua and Mia as Oscar slept soundly in Mummy's arms.
On Tuesday night Oscar felt a bit too warm, and by the morning he was still no better so Daddy and Mummy had to take him back into hospital. Apparently you have to be very careful when newborns have a fever, and he was admitted and given antibiotics and all sorts of tests run. Luckily after a couple of days his temperature returned back to normal but he was kept in to finish his medicine until today (Sunday). It was a pretty scary and worrying time for us, but it was great seeing the little chap on the mend again and bouncing back.
As you can imagine Mummy was throughly bored of hospitals and is now very much relieved and happy to be home with me, Daddy and of course Oscar. Oscar himself is completely back to normal: feeding like a demon and giving Mummy a hard time with his constant feeding! Mummy is still on antibiotics (for mastitis- nice!!) but she and Daddy are planning to crack open a bottle of Krug tonight after I have gone to bed. That will be the second time they get to celebrate coming home, but this time the bubbles will taste even sweeter!
No photos for this posting. Somehow shots of the room on the paediatric ward and Oscar's drip aren't really in keeping with the jolly tone of this blog :-)

Monday

Proud Big Sister

I have heard so much about my baby brother for many months now, and finally here I am giving him a long-awaited cuddle and a kiss. I never thought he would be so tiny or make so much noise. I just have to be very careful with him and not feed him chocolate or give him anything dangerous to play with...

Family of four

Day two and Oscar and Mummy are still at the hospital. Finally I get a cuddle!

Little brother's first day...

Bundle of joy, 3am on the 17th...
Mummy and Oscar recovering on the balcony.

Me dancing away hoping someone will pay me some attention... I am still the princess around here you know.

Welcome Oscar Binnion!

Tuesday

My new cousin, George Thomas Inglis

So, I have three cousins now, all boys. Daniel in Ireland, Harry in Leeds and now George in the rather romantic-sounding Denby Dale just outside Huddersfield. George was born last Weds 10th October and as you can see he is already a little cutie.

Here's a picture of my proud Uncle and Auntie, Neil and Jennie, holding tiny baby George. Mummy tells me I was once that small, though looking at me today it's pretty hard to imagine.

This photo below apparently looks a lot like me when I was born... though I am not sure if I was such an advanced tounge-roller!!

Monday

Three going on Thirteen...

Much to Daddy's horror and distaste, I have recently established a love for Disney's High School Musical 2 and its soundtrack. Now Daddy's not a huge Disney fan, but I think he's fine when it stays at cartoon level. However, when we were on holiday in Bali they also showed clips from the Musical and since I got back I get to watch the odd bit of Disney between bath and story time before I go to bed and often they have a video from the film.
Daddy calls it "cheesy American..." and then I don't understand the rest because Mummy tells him to stop swearing in front of me and leave me alone.
Mummy finds it hillarious that I have turned into such a little princess, and I think Daddy's just glad he's got a boy coming any day now. I suppose there's only so much sweet and cheesy even a ponce like my Dad can stand!
Mummy took this clip in my bedroom. Usually I am more vocal and the dance moves a bit swifter, I also use a prop (Camel, Brian or Mickey) to be 'Troy' and duet with... I think I was a little bit shy in front of the camera this time. Enjoy!
